is well named because even though it is in full view of the lighthouse, no one goes to it, in part because its access is somewhat well hidden by a lovely & steep trail.

But this gem of a beach, its lack of people (tourists & locals),

and its lava bowls make it worth the hike, but be careful with rough surf and rogue waves.

Tunnels Beach is stunning and offers great snorkeling with lots of sea turtles & fish,

as well as some exciting Kite Boarding to watch.

Anini Beach offers great snorkeling for sea turtles & fish too and facilities to boot.

Hanalei with 3 fantastics beaches and a bay perfectly shaped to concentrate the energy of the waves into a perfect long surf is our favorite area of Kauai.  It is also as cute as can be with several one lane bridges to cross and the beautiful mountain as a backdrop.
